Acupuncture
Chinese Medicine relies on a complex diagnostic system that allows the acupuncture practitioner to determine the state of available “Qi” (vital energy) and the Yin Yang energetic qualities of the body. Qi travels along 12+ energetic pathways in the body called meridians (or more accurately, channels). 365+ acupuncture points are located on these meridians and can be accessed using needles or acupressure. Acupuncture treatments help to moderate the organ systems and flow of Qi throughout the body, thus initiating healing and harmony within the body/mind/spirit.
Acupuncture is only one of the many modalities used to treat in Chinese medicine. Acupuncture is an energetic medicine that is able to address any health care issue by bringing the body in to balance. Most people in the US are familiar with the use of acupuncture for pain, but a licensed acupuncturist is able to independently diagnose and treat internal diseases effectively as well. Most acupuncture practices in this country address insomnia, depression, diabetes, heart disease, digestive issues, and a host of other health conditions with more frequency than pain issues.
In Chinese medicine, a trained practitioner can truly treat the WHOLE person; body/Mind/Spirit. Catherine has specific training in several types of acupuncture, one called Traditional Five Element Acupuncture that addresses Spirit disorders as root causes of imbalance leading to physical illnesses. This type of treatment goes much beyond treating symptoms such as pain and discomfort, and can lead to true wellness.
